The Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring (TPAPT) is hiring a College Admissions Strategist

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated College Admissions Strategist to support high school students in grades 9–12 with thoughtful, individualized planning for their post-secondary education. This seasonal, part-time position focuses on empowering students and families through every stage of the application journey, from initial planning to final decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular one-on-one and family sessions to design and refine personalized college admission plans
  • Build well-balanced college lists aligned with each student’s academic profile, interests, and aspirations
  • Guide students in developing authentic, impactful personal statements and supplemental essays
  • Establish realistic application timelines, including early decision, early action, and regular decision pathways
  • Assist in organizing and refining extracurricular summaries and activity resumes
  • Advise on securing strong letters of recommendation and preparing for admissions interviews
  • Support planning for campus visits, virtual tours, and engagement opportunities
  • Help students manage academic planning, test preparation schedules, and extracurricular development
  • Encourage and advise on independent initiatives such as community projects, small ventures, or workshops
  • Review admission offers with families, comparing programs, financial considerations, and fit
  • Maintain consistent, clear communication to ensure confidence and clarity throughout the process

Preferred Background

Ideal candidates will have direct experience in college admissions advising. This includes former admissions officers, certified Independent Educational Consultants (IECs), or experienced high school counselors familiar with holistic student evaluation and application strategy.

Work Arrangement

This is a remote position with flexible scheduling, accommodating students across different time zones. The role is seasonal and part-time, aligning with the academic calendar and peak application periods.
