Responsibilities
- Monitors and contacts customers with outstanding debts
- Works to bring customers into active status by reviewing payment options, extensions, loan modifications etc.
- Process payments from customers, assists them with setting up recurring or single payments
- Answer customer questions related to general account maintenance (ex: balances, payments, address changes, etc.)
- Takes actions to encourage timely debt payments
- Ensure account maintenance is updated within core system of record
- Report on collection activity and account status
- Research history such as ACH transactions, disputes, posting errors, and submits corrections
- May support other functions within Collections and Servicing teams
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1–2 years of collections experience in a high-volume call center environment
- Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques (ex: skip tracing)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of collection practices and associated regulations
- Prior customer service and/or call center experience
- Experience working in financial services, lending or payments
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish)
