Moog Aircraft Group is hiring an apprentice-trained, experienced Manual / CNC Grinder for a nightshift position at our Wolverhampton facility. You will join a team designing and manufacturing complex, high-precision mechanical products for the aerospace industry, working to exceptionally close tolerances.
What You'll Do
- Operate and set Manual Studer machines S20/RM250.
- Operate and set CNC Studer machines (S33/S31).
- Machine exotic and hardened materials.
- Carry out your own first-off inspection and complete necessary quality documentation.
- Perform precision manual land grinding, achieving limits to 0.00005".
- Set and run multiple machines and processes.
- Work the night shift after completing training on days.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Mate grinding experience is required.
- Previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing role in the aerospace industry.
- Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a focus on process improvement.
- Proficiency using relevant inspection techniques and equipment to achieve drawing tolerances.
- Ability to become self-certified and a quality stamp holder after a qualifying period.
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained.
