Ardent Principles, Inc. is looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team in Reston, VA. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical cloud applications, translating complex client needs into high-performing cloud solutions. This role encompasses designing and developing new applications and providing operations and maintenance for multiple tools.

What You'll Do

Independently design and develop cloud-based applications using current best practices and architectural guidelines.
Work in software engineering, applications development, or web application development and deployment.
Develop front ends in modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
Develop containerized applications using Kubernetes.
Work with orchestration tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices.
Install and manage cloud based applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Perform software and hardware upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations.
Manage the physical environment of server racks including cable management, documentation, labeling, and KVM configuration.
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, and prioritizing issues.
Perform regular backup operations and implement processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover.
Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to performance, security, or usability concerns.
Review application logs to sustain system integrity and security.
Communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of an organization.
Respond and resolve help desk and JIRA requests.

What We're Looking For

An Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance.
An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience working in software engineering, applications development or web application development and deployment.
Experience working with object oriented development in a modern language (Java, Go, C#).
Experience developing in a Linux environment.
Experience developing in commercial clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with networking and Virtual Private Network (VPN) protocols like OpenVPN, Wireguard, and IPSec.
Experience with Linux administration (Centos/Ubuntu/Rocky).

Nice to Have

Experience with Java/Go, Javascript, React, Angular, or Vue.
Development in AWS, Azure, or GCP (specifically experience with EC2, S3, EKS, EFS, Route53, Load Balancers or their equivalents).
Experience with Kubernetes.
Automation – CI/CD (Gitlab).
System administration experience.
Experience with Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies like OpenVPN, Wireguard, and IPSec.
Experience with Virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent.
Scripting (Bash, Python, Powershell) and automation tools.
System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields.
