Netrix Global is hiring a Cloud Engineer

The Cloud Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of hybrid IT environments that span on-premises data centers and cloud platforms. This position ensures high availability of infrastructure services by proactively monitoring systems, responding to incidents, and implementing improvements through automation and best practices. The engineer collaborates closely with operations, networking, and security teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions for internal and client systems. With a strong focus on documentation, continuous learning, and operational excellence, the role supports both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives within a managed services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to system alerts and evaluate events needing investigation, performing initial fixes or escalation as needed
  • Monitor, administer, and resolve issues in Windows and Linux server environments, including on-premises and cloud deployments
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file and print services, and virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware
  • Support storage systems including SAN infrastructure and related network components
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting for servers, virtualization hosts, and storage networks, including LAN and VPN configurations
  • Manage and update DNS records and maintain secure VPN tunnel connections
  • Coordinate with network engineering teams when cross-functional support is required
  • Carry out regular system updates, patches, and upgrades across servers, hypervisors, storage, and backup systems
  • Act as an escalation point for service desk, TOC/NOC, and systems teams for both internal and customer environments
  • Document system configurations, operational procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge consistency
  • Participate in on-call rotations, including weekend and after-hours support as needed
  • Support client onboarding, service delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives within the managed services framework

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience managing Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and SAN storage
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining server and virtualization environments
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving backup and restore operations for server environments
  • Basic networking proficiency to identify and resolve issues related to servers, virtualization, and storage networks
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SAN systems, particularly Dell EqualLogic, NetApp, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with managing small to medium business network appliances
  • Experience using enterprise monitoring and management tools
  • Background working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment

Additional Information

  • Work schedule includes shifts from Wednesday to Saturday, either 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST or 12:00 PM - 11:00 PM EST
  • Shift assignments may change based on operational coverage needs
  • Regular participation in on-call rotations is required to support after-hours incidents and system outages
  • Occasional travel may be required for on-site support or training sessions
  • Employees are expected to maintain up-to-date certifications relevant to cloud and infrastructure technologies
  • Security awareness and compliance with company policies are mandatory, including adherence to data protection protocols
