The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Clinical Research Recruiter to join our team. In this role, you will recruit, schedule, and perform follow-up with research participants according to study protocols. You will develop and execute recruitment strategies, maintain participant contact information, and serve as the principal source of information on recruitment processes.
What You'll Do
- Develop protocol-specific recruitment materials and prepare study-related folders/packets and mailings.
- Contribute to the development of recruitment metrics and analyze data to assess status and effectiveness of efforts.
- Administer data collection in-person, on phone, or by Zoom according to study protocols.
- Serve as principal source of information for volunteers, participants, staff, and investigators on recruitment processes and campaigns.
- Contribute to the formulation of marketing and communication plans and may assist in developing survey instruments.
- Educate patients on clinical research studies and pre-screen patients for eligibility.
- Consent or facilitate consent with patients verbally or in-person in clinics, hospitals, or communities.
- Maintain a contact list of clinic referrals and schedule patients for screening visits.
- Conduct reminder calls and/or manage rescheduling of potential participants and triage participant concerns.
- Identify, develop, and cultivate partnerships with community members.
- Reach out to clinics in the community to inform about studies, request displays, and schedule lunch and learns.
- Attend and report at regular study meetings with managers, directors, and investigators.
- May attend study-specific investigator meetings throughout the United States.
- May work evenings depending on study needs.
