The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator I for the Sleep, Circadian and Neuroimaging (SCN) lab within the Department of Psychiatry - Behavioral Neurobiology. In this role, you will coordinate clinical research studies, managing activities from recruitment and screening to data collection and analysis.
What You'll Do
- Serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol.
- Conduct screening and assist with determining participant eligibility.
- Perform all activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure.
- Conduct study screening and visits, data entry, organization, and analyses.
- Handle patient recruitment, screening, consent, and retention.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering, stocking, and tracking supplies.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Implement improvements to lab processes and workflows.
- Schedule participants' visits and coordinate between participants, the study team, and other clinical teams.
- Manage data entry and storage.
- Help with the collection of biological samples, including saliva and blood.
What We're Looking For
- A High School diploma or GED.
- An MVR is required as part of the hiring process.
Nice to Have
- A Psychology or Neuroscience degree and 1 year of experience.
- A comprehensive understanding of related scientific and clinical terminology.
- Laboratory Operations Management skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of clinical research conduct according to GCP throughout the study life cycle.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $43,890 - $71,320.
