McKesson is hiring a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist to deliver remote order review and implement high-quality clinical pharmacy services for practices within The US Oncology Network. In this role, you will help ensure the delivery of comprehensive, cost-effective care by collaborating closely with practice leadership and internal teams.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize clinical efficacy, appropriate dosing, therapeutic interchange, reimbursement, and other drug use initiatives.
- Implement mutually agreed upon therapeutic and supportive care medication use changes within the patient care setting.
- Collaborate with The Network practices to implement P&T recommendations and improvements for patient safety.
- Function as clinical pharmacist for patient-specific practice needs.
- Identify best practices within the electronic health record for medication review and suggestions for enhancements.
- Lead the development of clinical practice metrics.
- Report on clinical interventions and updates on key drug initiatives at practice P&T or applicable leadership meetings.
What We're Looking For
- Active pharmacist license.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- 4+ years of practice in oncology clinical pharmacy.
- Experience as oncology clinical pharmacist guiding sound drug utilization strategies.
- Experience developing and expanding clinical pharmacy services.
- Data analytic skills (primary literature, medication use trends, pharmacy practice).
- Excellence in development of articulate persuasive arguments based on analysis and consensus recommendations.
- Experience in successful collaboration efforts with physicians, advanced practice providers and other practice staff.
- Strong working knowledge of community oncology practices.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
- Advanced presentation and communication skills.
- Success managing ongoing relationships through remote communications and technology (phone, email, web conference, O365).
- Strong orientation and commitment to external and internal customer service.
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize /follow-up.
Nice to Have
- Active pharmacist licenses in New Jersey and Connecticut (or in process).
- Residency training.
- Board Certified in Oncology (BCOP).
- Practice development experience with community oncology practices.
- Understanding of managed care trends, including step edits, prior authorization workflow and value-based care models.
