Stanford Health Care seeks a Clinical Nurse (RN) to join the IP Alternate Care Area (ACA) focusing on Step Down and Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) care. You will provide hands-on patient care in an evidence-based manner, performing all steps of the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.
What You'll Do
- Establish therapeutic relationships by creating a climate conducive to healing and guiding patients and families through illness and recovery.
- Mobilize patient strengths and abilities toward participation in recovery and control over the plan of care.
- Perform diagnostic and monitoring functions, obtain and interpret assessment data, determine nursing diagnoses, and monitor patient status.
- Plan and implement therapeutic interventions by collaborating with the patient, family, and healthcare team to develop and execute an individualized plan of care.
- Assess patient and family learning needs and provide teaching for self-care and illness prevention; teach other staff members.
- Effectively manage rapidly changing situations and identify the need for and activate emergency protocols.
- Monitor own practices and assist in monitoring others for quality, safety, and compliance; seek opportunities for improvement.
- Integrate multiple requests by setting priorities, delegating tasks appropriately, and seeking assistance as needed.
- Contribute to team building through unit programs and meetings, positive morale, and constructive conflict resolution.
- Utilize available technology for communication, documentation, and locating clinical information.
- Attain knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice and demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning.
- Communicate effectively in a variety of formats.
- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
- Evaluate own nursing practice in relation to professional standards, guidelines, and regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
- Current California Registered Nurse (CA-RN) license
- Able to communicate effectively in English
Nice to Have
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university

- Compensation generally starting at $92.64 - $106.87 per hour
