About the Role
The Registered Nurse serves as a clinical leader, supervising patient treatments, managing nursing staff, ensuring adherence to protocols, and maintaining quality care standards in a dialysis setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily clinical operations for dialysis treatments
- Supervise nursing staff and support personnel during shifts
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs and treatment progress
- Administer medications and manage intravenous lines as prescribed
- Document patient care accurately in electronic health records
- Respond to patient emergencies and implement emergency protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to adjust treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures and self-care
- Conduct patient assessments before, during, and after treatment
- Maintain equipment safety and report malfunctions
- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of medical supplies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support training for new nursing staff
- Monitor adherence to regulatory standards
- Assist in audits and accreditation preparations
- Coordinate with social workers and dietitians for patient support
- Address patient concerns and provide emotional support
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Follow emergency preparedness protocols
- Promote a culture of patient safety and continuous improvement
- Manage inventory of clinical supplies
- Ensure accurate labeling and handling of blood samples
- Support patient transition planning and discharge needs
- Participate in staff performance evaluations
