Mass General Brigham is seeking a Clinic Practice Assistant II for a per-diem position in its AMB Obstetrics service. You will perform both administrative and clinical functions to ensure smooth and efficient clinical practice operations under general supervision.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to the clinical service.
- Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records.
- Greet and assist patients.
- Answer telephones, assist callers with routine inquiries, and schedule appointments.
- File materials in patient folders and print appointment schedules.
- Process patient billing forms and scan documents to the patient medical record/LMR.
- Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.
- Open and distribute unit mail or faxes.
- Type forms, records, schedules, memos, etc., as directed.
- Accept co-payments.
- Handle, screen, and take messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results.
- Act as a 'Super User' for scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
- Provide assistance and training to others in these areas.
- Perform more complex or specialized functions, such as surgical scheduling or schedule changes/blocking.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 2-3 years of office experience.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Knowledge of office operations, standards, and procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
- Ability to use phone systems and manage more non-routine calls, solving routine issues appropriately.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong reading comprehension for work-related documents.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks, follow protocols, and work within established systems.
Nice to Have
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located at 45 Francis Street.
