About the Role

Independence Pet Holdings is hiring a Claims Adjuster - Associate to join our team. We believe pet insurance is more than a financial product and build solutions to simplify the pet parenting journey and help improve the well-being of pets. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling insurance claims, determining policy coverage for the claimed loss and appropriate compensation amount.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with veterinary hospitals and policyholders to evaluate and review a pet’s medical history to determine a baseline of health.
  • Investigate and process assigned insurance claims, verify coverage, and determine compensation amounts per insurance policy.
  • Update Explanation of Benefits (EOB), pay, and close claims.
  • May order medical records from providers.
  • May communicate with clients and providers during treatment.

What We're Looking For

  • 1 year relevant experience working in a veterinary clinic.
  • Education: Must meet one of the following requirements: Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience (One-year relevant experience is equivalent to one year college); or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
  • Must have and maintain Adjusters license or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Only United States residents will be considered for this role.
