Leads a team of designers, develops CAD standards, and ensures design quality and compliance throughout all project phases, from concept to execution. Role is based in New Orleans with a hybrid work model supporting both in-office and remote collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, train, and mentor a team of civil and structural designers.
- Define design objectives and technical requirements in alignment with project goals.
- Maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance in all design outputs.
- Organize and lead design reviews and oversee CAD setup for projects.
- Create, document, and implement standardized CAD practices and procedures.
- Coordinate the assignment of design resources in collaboration with engineering leadership.
- Assess the technical capabilities of design staff before project deployment.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to establish effective design interfaces and workflows.
- Partner with software providers to troubleshoot and resolve technical application issues.
- Oversee design-related project timelines and budget adherence.
- Train engineering staff on CAD software features and optimized workflows.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety codes.
- Perform additional assigned tasks as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with nine years of engineering design experience, including leadership, process development, and project execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or scientific field plus five years of design experience involving team leadership and process implementation.
