Responsibilities
- Conduct engineering analysis, calculations, and design for civil site and land development projects.
- Create and review site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility, and erosion control designs.
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, technical reports, calculations, and construction documents.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to produce project designs and deliverables.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, surveyors, architects, contractors, and other disciplines.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Support the creation of project scopes, proposals, fee estimates, and technical approaches.
- Participate in client meetings, project coordination meetings, site visits, and construction-related activities.
- Assist with construction administration, including responding to contractor inquiries, reviewing submittals, and providing technical support.
- Apply relevant engineering standards, codes, regulations, and permitting requirements to project designs.
- Review project deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
- Identify technical issues and collaborate with senior staff to develop effective design solutions.
- Communicate technical information clearly to project team members and clients.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables while developing greater responsibility throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continue developing technical and professional skills through mentorship, project experience, and professional development opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, professional organizations, networking events, and other business development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
- 4+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably in site development, land development, municipal engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with civil site design, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, or related engineering work.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Understanding of civil engineering principles, design standards, codes, and permitting requirements.
- Experience preparing engineering plans, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with project teams, clients, and other disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
