AECOM is hiring a Civil OSP Telecom Lead to provide critical design review, QC, and project management support across our Outside Plant programs. You will specialize in reviewing Civil OSP design packages to ensure strict adherence to client standards and help maintain consistent program delivery.
What You'll Do
- Conduct detailed reviews of Civil OSP design packages, including trenching, duct banks, microduct configurations, manholes/handholes, routing, and utility coordination.
- Validate design compliance with client-specific standards, local jurisdictional requirements, and national engineering codes.
- Provide QC oversight to identify inconsistencies, missing elements, conflicts, or non-compliance prior to submittal.
- Offer clear review comments and actionable guidance to designers, CAD teams, and subcontractors.
- Assist Project Managers in managing design review cycles, comment logs, deadlines, and submittal tracking.
- Support internal and external coordination meetings, especially during high-workload periods.
- Help integrate client review comments from municipalities and permitting agencies into the design workflow.
- Work collaboratively with OSP engineers, civil designers, GIS teams, and construction stakeholders.
- Ensure design intent aligns with field conditions, client expectations, and overall program strategy.
- Participate in routing analysis and constructability validation for new or revised alignments.
- Maintain and enhance Civil-OSP QC checklists based on evolving client design standards.
- Identify recurring review issues and help streamline upstream design processes to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Support onboarding and mentoring of junior reviewers or external QC resources.
- Leverage digital and automated tools to streamline processes, improve consistency, and reduce manual workload.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience reviewing Civil OSP design packages for telecom projects.
- Deep understanding of client-specific OSP design documentation, standards, and templates.
- Strong knowledge of local jurisdictional requirements and national engineering standards relevant to civil OSP.
- Ability to provide actionable QC feedback and manage review cycles to meet deadlines.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with engineering, design, GIS, and construction teams.
- Experience supporting project management functions related to design submittals.
