Hatch is looking for a motivated Civil Engineering Trainee to join our Highways & Bridges group. Based in our Thunder Bay, ON office, you will support global projects on challenging assignments within the infrastructure industry, working on large and medium-size projects while receiving direct guidance and mentoring.
What You'll Do
- Assist with work on challenging assignments and projects.
- Work on large and medium size projects in the infrastructure industry.
- Directly apply and develop knowledge in the design of linear infrastructure for front-end planning studies and detailed engineering phases for multidiscipline projects.
- Work closely with experienced designers and engineers who will provide guidance and mentoring.
What We're Looking For
- Graduated or currently graduating from a Civil Engineering program at an accredited University.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to sites as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, quick to deliver, and a team player.
- High regard for job safety and quality work.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and excellent computer skills.
- Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects.

- Familiarity with CAD/Design software applications such as MathCAD, Excel, MicroStation, InRoads, EPA SWMM, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
