AECOM is looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Chesterfield office. In this role, you will deliver technical design and project support across a range of civil infrastructure projects, primarily within commercial and residential developments. You will be instrumental in contributing to successful project delivery and supporting the continued growth of our business.
What You'll Do
- Report to the Principal / Associate Director, supporting the wider team to ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards.
- Assist in the technical design and project management of civil infrastructure schemes.
- Develop strong internal working relationships and support the training and development of team members.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Deliver a client-focused service that promotes ongoing client satisfaction and repeat business.
What We're Looking For
- Commercial awareness with the ability to support teams in delivering projects to time, cost, and quality.
- Experience in highways, drainage, and associated infrastructure design for multidisciplinary developments.
- Detailed knowledge of drainage design, including piped systems and SuDS, with experience in storage design.
- Experience preparing contract drawings and specifications and negotiating Sections 38, 278, 104, and 106 Agreements.
- Knowledge and experience in the design of highways, access roads, and infrastructure, including road geometry, earthworks, pavements, drainage, and underground services.
- A willingness to coach and support junior staff to aid their professional development.
Nice to Have
- Significant experience in UK development-led infrastructure engineering, gained in a public, private, or consultancy environment.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Civil Engineer status or working towards Chartership (MICE).
