CivicPlus is hiring a Solutions Engineer I to combine technical expertise with a customer-centric approach. You will support sales by translating prospect requirements into compelling solutions, demonstrating products, and guiding technical discussions to drive customer success.
What You'll Do
- Act as the subject matter expert for designated products, representing CivicPlus in technical and finalist presentations with sales.
- Present technology solutions in sales situations where an overview is required.
- Lead deep discovery and demonstration phases for small to mid-market opportunities.
- Drive technical presentations at trade shows and industry conferences.
- Provide product feedback based on market needs to help influence the product roadmap.
- Solicit feedback from clients and stakeholders to improve and expand service offerings.
- Serve as the technical expert for solution configuration, RFP responses, and handling technical questions.
- Prepare and conduct discovery workshops and value-based use case demonstrations with the sales team.
- Create, configure, and manage client sandbox environments for qualified proof of concept opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated ability to connect business problems to technical solutions and articulate technology value propositions.
- Proven skill in managing change, influencing stakeholders, managing expectations, and communicating effectively.
- A self-starter and collaborative team player who works well with cross-functional teams toward continual improvement.
- Willingness to travel often, sometimes with short notice and for extended periods.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or social sciences, or comparable experience.
- A strong technical background and excellent understanding of SaaS software solutions.
- Familiarity with standard web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience in a consultative role with clients, partners, management, and peers.
- 1+ years of experience in software delivery, technical marketing, product management, solution consulting, or relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a local government role preferred.
- Excellent/advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
