WCIV NEWS is hiring a Chief Photographer to lead our visual storytelling team. This role is responsible for managing the staff of Photographers, Multimedia Journalists (MMJs), and Editors, driving daily news gathering, and ensuring the highest quality of video production and team development.
What You'll Do
- Lead, manage, evaluate, and develop a team of photographers and Multimedia Journalists (MMJs).
- Provide constructive feedback on shooting and editing performance.
- Train staff on ENG truck and Live U operation and equipment.
- Assist the News Director with hiring and scheduling.
- Maintain editing systems and ensure vehicle and equipment upkeep.
- Oversee daily news gathering operations.
What We're Looking For
- At least three (3) years of television news photography and non-linear editing experience.
- Must be professional, organized, and highly motivated.
- Deep knowledge and experience with television news photography.
- Technical knowledge of SAT vehicles, LIVE U, and editing systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with reporters and Multimedia Journalists.
- Proven ability to independently gather news and meet tight deadlines.
