Kempinski Hotels is looking for a Chief Operating Officer to transform our high-level vision into a high-functioning operational reality. You will serve as the critical bridge between sales promises and production, ensuring the delivery of quality products on time and within budget.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Leadership Team to ensure alignment between Sales, Tool Shop, Operations, Human Resources, and Finance.
- Facilitate weekly leadership meetings and monthly scorecard reporting.
- Convert strategic plans into actionable quarterly goals.
- Act as the primary driver of core values across the organization.
- Prioritize Quality, Cost, and Delivery to fulfill commitments.
- Document and audit all manufacturing processes for consistency and scalability.
- Oversee production from raw materials to finished goods, applying Lean principles to minimize waste.
- Provide full oversight of the physical plant, equipment, maintenance, and a clean, safe, OSHA-compliant environment.
- Take accountability for operational profit and loss, driving margins through process improvements.
- Maintain and audit the company cost model for accurate labor and material overhead.
- Partner with Sales and Engineering to provide accurate, profitable quotes for custom and volume orders.
- Manage vendor relationships and stabilize the procurement of high-quality materials.
- Identify and remove workflow friction points before they impact employees or customers.
- Ensure Sales and Operations are synchronized to prevent unrealistic production commitments.
- Act as the decisive lead during critical incidents like equipment failures or supply chain disruptions.
- Lead high-impact strategic projects such as new machinery implementation or ERP rollouts.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- BA/BS degree required.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing) is strongly preferred.
- Experience in the Furniture, Metal, Plastic, Fabric, or Woodworking industry is a significant plus.
