SwissBorg is hiring a Chief Information Security Officer

About the Role

What You'll Do

Shape and direct the organization’s comprehensive security strategy, ensuring resilience across systems and alignment with business objectives. Act as the principal liaison for Swiss and French financial regulators, representing the company on all security-related matters. Lead compliance initiatives for DORA and MiCA, managing internal audits and maintaining rigorous standards across operations.

Deliver regular updates to executive leadership and the board, detailing risk exposure, audit findings, and compliance status. Establish and enforce enterprise-wide security policies, focusing on identity management, access controls, and privileged account governance. Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with legal, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies when necessary.

Oversee the security design of cryptocurrency custody solutions, including wallet infrastructure, key lifecycle management, and trading systems. Evaluate and manage risk associated with third-party vendors and blockchain service providers. Manage the security budget, vendor selection, and high-level contract negotiations.

Develop and deploy security training programs and collaborate with engineering teams to integrate robust security practices into system design and development workflows.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in information security, including at least 2 years as a CISO or Head of Security
  • Direct experience in regulated financial sectors—fintech, banking, or cryptocurrency is required
  • Thorough understanding of Swiss (FINMA) and French (AMF) regulatory expectations, as well as EU frameworks including DORA, MiCA, and GDPR
  • Proven expertise in cryptocurrency security, including custody models, key management, and blockchain systems
  • Executive-level experience managing security crises and coordinating with law enforcement
  • Technical background enabling deep review of system architecture and engineering decisions
  • Strong attention to detail when evaluating configurations, access rights, and compliance documentation in 24/7 environments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical risk for board-level audiences
  • Fluency in English required; French is a strong advantage for regulatory engagement
  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Benefits

  • Opportunity to shape security strategy from the ground up
  • Collaborate with experts across finance, engineering, AI, psychology, and business
  • Performance-based BORG bonus under a meritocratic model
  • Flexible working hours
  • 25 paid vacation days plus local holidays
  • Company-provided MacBook and modern technology stack
  • Annual company and team retreats
  • Access to ongoing learning and professional development
