Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory analysis on a wide range of petroleum, oil, and lubricant (POL) products, such as aviation fuels, diesel fuels, gasolines, lubricants, greases, coolants, hydraulic fluids, and solid film lubricants.
- Execute standardized testing protocols in strict accordance with ASTM International, SAE International, Federal Test Methods, and other relevant methodologies tailored to specific product and project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management Standards, completing all testing activities with precision, traceability, and adherence to Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Achieve and maintain technical proficiency by completing required training and attaining “Trained” or “Expert” status on applicable test methods and instrumentation.
- Support end-to-end laboratory operations, including sample intake and logging, work order creation, report generation, consumable inventory, safety data sheet (SDS) updates, and waste management in alignment with environmental and safety regulations.
- Complete all mandatory training related to but not limited to laboratory operations, including testing procedures, safety protocols, quality assurance, and environmental compliance.
- Participate in laboratory audits to include safety, quality, and environmental, upon request.
- Conduct routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance by rigorously following protocols for the handling, storage, and labeling of chemicals and materials in accordance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- A Bachelors degree from an accredited university in physical science or engineering or in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
- Preferred: Demonstrate a minimum of 6 months of hands-on laboratory experience conducting scientific testing and analysis, including sample preparation, data collection, and interpretation using standardized methodologies.
- Ability to lift items up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and reaching.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance with the US DoD
