Saint Luke's Health System, a faith-based, nonprofit, locally owned health system, is looking for a Charge Audit Nurse Specialist, RN to support charging accuracy among clinical departments. In this role, you will perform charge capture, review medical records, validate documentation, and collaborate with various departments for claim resolution and process improvement, contributing to our mission of being the best place to get care and give care.
What You'll Do
- Perform charge capture for assigned departments including Emergency departments, Infusion Clinics, and bedded nursing units.
- Review patient medical records and validate documentation to support charges.
- Share charge trends with department Managers and Charge Management to support staff education for revenue capture.
- Collaborate with Charge Management, Patient Accounts, HIM, UR and other departments for claim edit resolution, charge issue resolution, and process improvement.
- Serve as a liaison and resource between clinical and Patient Accounts departments.
- Perform IR audits for metro facilities.
- Manage Epic work queues assigned to nurse auditors for edit/issue resolution and complete accounts in a timely manner.
- Manage the 3rd party commercial audit process.
- Report charging trends including documentation issues to Charge Management service line analyst and Charge Audit Manager.
- Participate in ad hoc meetings/projects for process improvement/issue resolution.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- 3-5 years of applicable clinical or revenue cycle experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with the Epic electronic health record system.

You will collaborate closely with Charge Management, Patient Accounts, Health Information Management (HIM), Utilization Review (UR), and other clinical departments. You will report directly to the Charge Audit Manager within our diverse and inclusive workspace where all voices matter.
Work Mode
This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is based in the Kansas City metro area.
