Braze is hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its leading consumer app that helps families transition young children to solid foods. This role is a blend of finance, analytics, and operational execution, serving as a financial leader and strategic partner to the CEO.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain detailed forecasting models, budgets, and variance analyses for business performance visibility.
- Partner with the CEO to align resource allocation and growth objectives within the company’s capital plan.
- Build scalable financial reporting and performance dashboards connecting marketing and operational decisions to financial outcomes.
- Work closely with centralized accounting and FP&A teams to ensure consistent reporting and compliance.
- Lead analysis of CAC, LTV, ROAS, and payback periods across marketing channels, including paid social, search, affiliates, and influencers.
- Evaluate marketing spend efficiency and ROI within established LTV:CAC guardrails to support sustainable growth.
- Provide insights to guide the CEO’s investment decisions and inform spend allocation across channels.
- Maintain and refine dashboards and cohort analyses for real-time visibility into funnel performance, retention, and monetization.
- Oversee vendor relationships and ensure the financial and marketing tech stack supports accurate data and timely decision-making.
- Evaluate contracts, pricing, and renewals to ensure optimal ROI.
- Coordinate with growth and product leaders to ensure tools are integrated and delivering measurable value.
- Serve as a financial thought partner to the CEO and leadership team.
- Translate data into insights that shape pricing, channel mix, and customer acquisition strategy.
- Help build a data-informed culture grounded in clear metrics, transparent reporting, and disciplined execution.
- Support the CEO in planning, prioritization, and follow-through on financial and operational initiatives.
- Translate ambiguous goals into quantitative plans with clear owners and timelines.
- Prepare concise materials for stakeholders, including weekly KPIs, monthly financials, and quarterly forecasts.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial and marketing systems, including billing, reporting, and analytics.
What We're Looking For
- A high level of accountability and ownership; able to translate business goals into actionable financial strategies and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Deep understanding of performance marketing metrics (CAC, LTV, ROAS, payback) and consumer app economics.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain forecasts, budgets, and variance models.
- Skilled at using data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and drive recommendations that improve financial and marketing performance.
- Strong communication skills; capable of simplifying complex analyses for decision-making.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and maintain focus under pressure.
- Experience managing vendor ecosystems and financial/analytics tech stacks.
Nice to Have
- 8–12+ years in finance or FP&A at a consumer app, marketplace, or DTC company.
- Experience partnering directly with CEOs or GMs on growth and investment decisions.
- Strong analytical background with hands-on experience building and interpreting financial models.
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, product, and operations leaders.
- A low-ego operator who values precision, clarity, and measurable impact.
