About the Role

International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for surgical patients on a project in Iraq. In this role, you will manage patient care before, during, and after a variety of operations.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive preoperative evaluations to assess patient medical history, physical condition, and anesthesia risks.
  • Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
  • Administer various forms of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia.
  • Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and anesthesia depth during procedures.
  • Manage airway and respiratory support as necessary throughout the surgical process.
  • Provide care in the post-anesthesia recovery unit, monitoring patients’ recovery.
  • Assess and manage any immediate postoperative complications or side effects related to anesthesia.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Complete required organizational compliance education for regulatory bodies.
  • Consult and collaborate with the entire surgical care and interdisciplinary team for patient care planning.
  • Be responsible for routine maintenance and cleaning of anesthesia equipment.

What We're Looking For

  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted CRNA license in any State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • BE/BC by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • 3+ years' experience as a CRNA including 18 months within the last year.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration date.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically a MRPT.
  • Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.

Nice to Have

  • Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) preferred.
  • Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
  • Applicants with current clearances are preferred.
