The NPD Practitioner/Specialist serves as the program lead (Director) of the ANCC-accredited UR CNPD Provider Unit, ensuring compliance with ANCC criteria and standards for continuing nursing education. This full-time role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs to improve nursing practice, patient outcomes, and professional development. The position operates Monday-Friday with a hybrid work model requiring three days on-site weekly.
Responsibilities
- Completes defined scope and standards of practice
- Engages in environmental scanning to identify practice gaps
- Collaborates with others in improving practice and healthcare outcomes
- Functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialty, and partner for practice transitions
- Supports learning, change, professional role competence and growth
- Leads the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accredited UR CNPD Provider Unit
- Ensures current ANCC criteria and standards are upheld when awarding CNE credit
- Plans, implements, and evaluates educational activities according to educational standards and adult learning principles
- Works closely with Nurse Planners across organizational service lines
- Provides role orientation, competence, and compliance with ANCC criteria
- Performs other departmental responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- Current NYS RN licensure
- BSN
- Acute care nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field in Nursing (other related fields considered)
- Board certification in Nursing Professional Development
- Experience as a preceptor, educator, or leader
- Excellent communication skills

Compensation
$92,061.00 - $119,704.00. Individual salaries determined by market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations
