This full-time position plays a central role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of revenue cycle operations. Working remotely within New York, the coordinator ensures daily processes run smoothly by guiding team members, resolving escalated issues, and maintaining a thorough understanding of billing systems and interdepartmental workflows.
What You'll Do
The coordinator oversees daily activities within the revenue cycle team, serving as a primary resource for resolving complex or unusual account matters. You'll identify, analyze, and resolve billing discrepancies, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up in designated systems. By mentoring associates and delivering constructive feedback, you'll support performance growth and reinforce best practices.
You'll contribute to staff development by assisting with training materials, onboarding, and cross-training initiatives. When gaps or errors arise, you'll provide retraining and implement corrective actions. The role also involves stepping in to perform core functions—such as payment posting, work queue management, and account research—during staffing transitions or peak demand periods.
Proactively identifying recurring issues and operational trends is a key responsibility. You'll escalate complex cases appropriately and recommend process enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency. Annual review of policies and procedures ensures alignment with current standards. Collaboration across departments helps strengthen service delivery and supports continuous learning.
Requirements
An Associate’s degree in Business Administration is required, along with three years of experience in medical or consumer accounting. Candidates may substitute education with a combination of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with medical terminology, intermediate proficiency in Excel, and at least one year of leadership or subject matter expert experience.
