APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is looking for a CDL Trainee to train for operating mixer trucks and transporting materials. You will learn to conduct vehicle inspections, load and unload materials, and adhere to all safety and DOT regulations.
What You'll Do
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections with proper documentation per DOT guidelines.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Monitor vehicle gauges during operation and maintain accurate mileage logs.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to applicable laws and dispatch instructions.
- Ensure product quality through proper handling procedures.
- Perform minor equipment servicing; escalate major issues to supervisors.
- Keep vehicles clean and organized.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must obtain a CDL B Permit from the local DMV.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to obtain a valid CDL permit.
- Successful completion of DOT physical, drug screening, and criminal background check.
- Possession of a valid DOT medical card.
- Strict adherence to safety standards and company policies.
- Team player willing to assist co-workers and supervisors.
- Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy to colleagues and the public.
- Maintain a current driver’s license meeting state and company requirements (CDL, Class B).
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet company and DOT standards.
- Ability to work up to six days per week, including significant overtime (55-70 hours/week), per DOT ready mix exemption laws.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and varying schedules.
- Commitment to training employees with a CDL Class B license, even without driving experience.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) including face shield, safety shoes, and safety vest.
- Compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
