Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for clients, working alongside the Senior Caseworker in the Anti-Trafficking Program.
- Conduct client evaluations, develop safety plans, provide resource referrals, and assist with community and healthcare navigation.
- Carry out both in-person and remote client meetings, creating detailed service plans to address the needs of trafficking survivors.
- Facilitate smooth transitions to victim service agencies and other providers for services like victim compensation, legal aid, medical and mental health care, public benefits, and housing.
- Collaborate with the California Victim Compensation Board, state courts, and law enforcement as necessary.
- Independently monitor resource access, offer close support to overcome obstacles, and maintain client safety and stability.
- Find and assess resources in the communities where clients live.
- Work remotely to build partnerships and referral networks across the northern coastal and coastal areas of Northern California.
- Oversee client safety and well-being, ensuring appropriate shelter and care are provided.
- Fulfill duties as a mandated reporter.
- Work with the Senior Anti-Trafficking Caseworker to deliver training and education to other service providers, community members, volunteers, interns, and relevant parties.
- Write case notes, input data, and complete case files and program reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all client information.
- Help track donations and client assistance payments.
- Attend supervision sessions, team meetings, and training as assigned.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional case management experience with vulnerable populations in a social service or nonprofit setting.
- Thorough knowledge and comfort in supporting others during crisis situations.
- Experience with client safety planning and navigating victim services.
- Prior experience identifying local community social services and other resources is required.
- Experience providing both virtual and in-person services to clients.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across regional programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to travel throughout the coastal and rural north of Northern California as required, with a strong preference for candidates from Del Norte, Trinity, and Humboldt counties.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Ability to sit for extended periods in an office setting.
- Standard work hours with occasional evening or weekend assignments.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Prior experience using data and tracking systems is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of human trafficking dynamics and victim service systems is preferred.
- Experience with case documentation, data tracking systems, and grant reporting is preferred.

Hybrid — Del Norte County, Trinity County, Humboldt County
