What You'll Do
- Conduct outbound calls to insurance providers to confirm coverage eligibility and gather necessary documentation for patient care
- Respond to incoming inquiries related to pharmacy services, ensuring accurate and timely resolution
- Support patients through enrollment in copay assistance programs offered by manufacturers and nonprofit organizations
- Follow up on prior authorization requests and appeals, tracking status and communicating updates efficiently
- Document all interactions with precision and maintain compliance with program-specific quality metrics
- Report adverse drug events in accordance with established protocols and safeguard patient privacy under HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate within a virtual team environment, contributing to shared goals while working independently
- Participate in training sessions to stay current with evolving processes, policies, and technology platforms
- Support onboarding efforts for new team members when needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- At least one year of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or a comparable healthcare administrative role
- Minimum of three months of data entry experience with demonstrated accuracy
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Familiarity with soft phone systems such as WebEx, Mitel, or Shoretel
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and spoken form
- Reliable internet connection with direct plug-in access — Wi-Fi is not permitted
- Private, distraction-free workspace to ensure confidentiality and compliance
- Must reside in the country where the position is advertised
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework completed
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Prior experience in a patient support services hub or similar setting
- Customer service background within the healthcare industry
