As a Business Development Manager, you will take full ownership of expanding our market footprint across the Midwestern United States. Your primary focus will be identifying high-potential opportunities, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders, and guiding complex sales from initial contact to close.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute a targeted go-to-market strategy for your region, aligning with company-wide growth objectives.
- Lead end-to-end sales efforts with manufacturers, system integrators, and distribution partners, focusing on consultative selling of robotic and vision-based automation platforms.
- Establish strong connections with engineering, operations, and executive decision-makers, particularly within Tier-1 automotive suppliers and industrial OEMs.
- Collaborate internally with technical teams to tailor solutions, demonstrate value, and ensure seamless customer onboarding.
- Manage a robust sales pipeline, deliver accurate forecasts, and refine outreach strategies based on performance data.
- Represent the company at customer sites and industry events, positioning our technology as a critical enabler of smart manufacturing.
- Provide direct feedback to leadership on market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to shape product and pricing strategy.
- Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts and drive adoption across new departments or facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or a related technical field; business degrees with relevant industry experience will also be considered.
- 3–5+ years in B2B sales or business development, preferably in industrial automation, robotics, or machine vision.
- Proven ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving engineering, operations, and executive teams.
- Familiarity with robotic systems, PLCs, and industrial control environments—experience with brands like FANUC, ABB, or Siemens is a plus.
- Hands-on experience supporting and developing channel partners such as system integrators and automation distributors.
- Willingness to travel 30–50% within the Midwest region (WI, MI, IL, IN, MO, OH).
- Must currently reside in one of the target states.
