Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Business Development Manager (Remote - US)

About the Role

At Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to act as a dedicated 'hunter' for new clinical trial opportunities. You will drive strategic outreach and build key relationships across the pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO sectors to expand our study pipeline and position our organization as a trusted partner.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and engage prospective sponsors, CROs, and industry partners to secure new clinical trial awards.
  • Execute high-volume prospecting campaigns, qualify inbound and outbound leads, and schedule feasibility meetings or presentations.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified study opportunities across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Research sponsor pipelines, clinical programs, and market trends to inform tailored outreach strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of lead generation activities, account status, and opportunity progression in Salesforce.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and industry events to expand visibility and foster new relationships.
  • Collaborate with feasibility, operations, and site leaders to ensure alignment on site capabilities and enrollment potential.
  • Provide market insights and sponsor feedback to support business planning and customer satisfaction.
  • Consistently meet or exceed pipeline development and contract value targets through disciplined follow-up and relationship management.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in business development, inside sales, or patient recruitment in the clinical research space.
  • Proven ability in outbound prospecting and consistently achieving goals.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Highly self-motivated with a results-driven, 'hunter' mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple leads and priorities simultaneously.

Nice to Have

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of business development experience within clinical research, biotech, or pharma, with an existing network of sponsor, CRO, or pharma contacts.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Devana.
