About the Role

Rulemapping Group GmbH is hiring a Business Development Manager (m/f/d) to spearhead our commercial expansion in the United States. You will play a pivotal role in our market entry, acting as the operational right hand of the Country Manager to build a sales pipeline, acquire lighthouse customers, and establish our presence. This is a hands-on greenfield opportunity for a driven professional to shape our growth at the intersection of law and technology.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct hands-on Business Development and Direct Sales with a clear focus on the Private Sector (B2B).
  • Actively contribute to the US market entry (greenfield setup) by building pipeline, customer base, and market presence alongside the Country Manager.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop tailored solutions for various industries.
  • Develop and execute local business development strategies to scale our SaaS portfolio.
  • Acquire new customers through direct sales approaches and targeted account development.
  • Manage and strategically develop existing customer relationships across the entire lifecycle (Key Account Management).
  • Build a strong network of customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a partner ecosystem (resellers, system integrators, distributors) in close coordination with our German headquarters.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Delivery, Legal Engineering, AI Engineering, Configuration, PMO, Service) to ensure successful implementations and long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Align with Product Management and Marketing to optimally position our solutions in the US market.
  • Represent Rulemapping at events, meetups, and on social media.

What We're Looking For

  • A University degree in Business Administration, STEM, or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Key Account Management.
  • Required Private Sector experience.
  • Solid understanding of SaaS business models, cloud technologies, and digital transformation processes.
  • A strong closing mindset combined with strategic thinking in customer development.
  • Confident communication on C-level and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Experience with agile working methods and modern collaboration models.
  • A high level of ownership, builder mindset, and motivation to take responsibility in an early market phase.
  • English language proficiency at C2 level.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the Public Sector or GovTech is a strong plus.
  • A SaaS/tech background is strongly preferred.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.

Team & Environment

You will be part of a dynamic, 11-50 employee company, working closely with Delivery and Product teams as well as our Germany-based Global Hub. You will report directly to the Country Manager and act as their operational right hand.
