This role focuses on enhancing operational performance within asset development and compliance by leveraging data-driven analysis and strategic planning. The Business Analyst / Specialist will assess regional supply and demand factors, pipeline limitations, and market fluctuations to identify immediate opportunities for capacity optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze time-based and regional price differentials to assess the value of available capacity and market positioning.
- Build and maintain financial and operational models to guide pricing, forecasting, and long-term optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with midstream partners and internal teams—including Scheduling, Accounting, and Operations—to improve asset utilization and respond to market shifts.
- Transform complex datasets into clear performance reports, actionable insights, and strategic recommendations for decision-makers.
- Define and track program metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators to evaluate success and uncover new opportunities.
- Lead process improvement and analytics initiatives, prioritizing high-impact projects and ensuring timely execution.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and strengthen cross-program collaboration through consistent communication and best practice adoption.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or a related field, along with 1–3 years of experience in gas management, midstream commercial operations, or a similar analytical capacity. A solid grasp of natural gas markets, transportation agreements, pipeline capacity, and regional pricing structures is essential.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required. Experience with Quorum, Salesforce, Power BI, DataBricks, or Spotfire is advantageous. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
