About the Role

Builders Mutual is seeking a Premium Audit Reviewer to join our team. In this role, you will review physical, virtual, mail, and online audits on Property/Casualty Commercial Lines adjustable policies to establish appropriate classifications, exposures, and basis of premium. You'll work with minimal supervision on routine audits, serving as a key link between our field staff, underwriters, and insureds.

What You'll Do

  • Review physical audit spreadsheets from company auditors and outside vendors to verify proper classifications and rates are applied.
  • Complete audit, review, and summarize mail information from insureds to determine correct exposures by examining payroll reports, financial statements, and other documents.
  • Review dispute information received from agents or insureds, analyzing submitted documentation for relevance.
  • Process audit information using the policy administration system, monitoring and following up with internal departments to resolve system issues and generate the final billing statement.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding exposures, classification changes, or general auditing procedures.
  • Summarize and provide feedback to underwriters and agents outlining audit results from interim or mid-term audits.
  • Work collaboratively with all interdepartmental personnel.
  • Provide support to the premium audit field staff as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum high school diploma, BA / BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Solid computer skills (MS Office).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of the NCCI and ISO manual rules as they relate to classification and calculation of exposures for premium determination.

Nice to Have

  • Basic knowledge of general business, insurance principles, and accounting.
