Responsibilities
- Initiate regular contact and offer continuous mentorship to online BSN students, fostering engagement and confidence through a supportive, student-focused approach.
- Support academic achievement by coaching learners, reinforcing accountability, and encouraging lifelong learning habits.
- Design individualized support strategies based on student needs, learning preferences, and academic barriers to improve retention and progress.
- Cultivate trusting relationships that inspire students to stay motivated and advance successfully through the program.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in NCLEX-RN tested competencies and modern nursing practices to guide exam preparation and academic growth.
- Help develop and implement personalized study plans and academic support initiatives for Next Generation NCLEX readiness.
- Track and document student progress consistently in coordination with academic leadership to meet course and program goals.
- Uphold high standards of service through professionalism, empathy, clear communication, and a commitment to student-centered care.
- Offer academic advising, mentoring, and tutoring to help students thrive in an online learning environment.
- Be available during evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate student schedules and support needs.
- Organize and lead virtual lab sessions to ensure students achieve course objectives; serve as instructor in virtual labs when required.
- Provide tailored supervision and support for mastering and improving technical nursing skills according to course expectations.
- Lead outreach efforts for students at risk of attrition, including those referred, reinstated, or repeating courses, and contribute to retention reporting.
- Hold valid qualifications to teach and evaluate learning in virtual academic settings.
- Deliver limited instructional content—lectures, labs, clinicals, or simulations—up to half of full-time equivalent responsibilities per term.
- Assess student competency through skills validation evaluations.
- Perform additional assigned duties as needed.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Requirements
- Experience or ability in initiating and maintaining proactive student outreach and mentoring
- Capacity to deliver tailored academic support throughout the BSN curriculum
- Up-to-date understanding of NCLEX-RN competencies and current nursing standards
- Background in academic coaching and strategies that promote student success
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Skill in identifying learning styles and academic obstacles
- Dedication to student-centered care principles
- Proficiency in virtual teaching and mentoring platforms
- Appropriate academic or professional credentials for virtual instruction and assessment
- Willingness to provide limited direct instruction, not exceeding 50% of full-time workload
- Ability to evaluate clinical skills validations
- Commitment to compliance with all institutional policies and standards
