WSP USA Inc. is hiring a BIM Designer

WSP USA Inc. is looking for a BIM Designer to support the design and delivery of rail infrastructure projects in the Nordics. You will use your expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and CAD design to ensure accurate, coordinated, and efficient design outputs that meet project standards and client requirements.

What You'll Do

• Develop and manage 3D BIM models for rail systems, stations, and related infrastructure using tools like Microstation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRail, and Navisworks.
• Produce 2D CAD drawings and detailed design documentation compliant with U.S. and Nordics rail standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Survey, Architect, Utilities, Civil, Structural, MEP) to ensure model integrity and resolve clashes.
• Implement and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project-specific BIM protocols.
• Perform model validation, clash detection, and quality checks using Navisworks or similar tools.
• Support design reviews and create visualizations for stakeholder presentations.
• Coordinate with other discipline model managers and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with rail design codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Maintain model and drawing accuracy per BIM standards and workflow checklists.
• Synchronize and update models on cloud collaboration platforms daily for team review and mark-up.
• Deliver outputs on schedule and report progress to the BIM Lead/Coordinator.
• Support the company’s SHEQ initiatives within assigned responsibilities.
• Develop procedures, including setting up seed files, templates, shared parameters, and families.
• Lead development of discipline-specific model content when required.

What We're Looking For

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 4-8 years of experience in BIM and CAD design for rail or transportation projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRail/Road and BIM coordination tools like Navisworks.
• Experience with cloud collaboration platforms and CDE like Projectwise, BIM 360, ACC.
• Experience in handling Lidar / Point Cloud data.
• Knowledge of interoperability with different formats and platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Nordics rail standards (TRVINFRA or European Norms).
• Certification and experience in one or more of the following: Microstation and Open Building Designer for structural modelling, OpenRail, Civil 3D for infrastructure design, Navisworks, iModel, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, ACC.
• Autodesk Certified Professional (AutoCAD / Civil 3D).
• BIM Level 2 or ISO 19650 training/certification.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the BIM Lead/Coordinator and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams.

Work Mode

This is a hybrid position based in India. You can work from our offices in Noida, Bengaluru, or Mumbai.
