M&T Bank is looking for a Bilingual (Spanish) Relationship Banker to join our Fells Point Branch in Baltimore, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying customer financial needs through the retail sales process, providing proactive sales solutions, and referring more complex needs. You will specialize in the branch customer experience through lobby management, servicing, and sales for both retail and business customers.
What You'll Do
- Play a key role in Relationship Management, including customer assessments, profiling for sales opportunities, account opening, and lead-focused outbound calling.
- Drive the Sales Process by completing profile and pre-call planning, conducting outreach, preparing for appointments, and following up.
- Complete basic research on customer profiles to assess ways to add value and transition to needs-based discussions on financial goals.
- Identify financial needs and present all appropriate product and service options by working cooperatively with internal business partners.
- Proactively reach out to clients via email or phone to follow up and educate them on value-added products and services.
- Onboard new customers through customer outreach.
- Establish trust with existing clients through proactive and regular outreach.
- Schedule and hold preset appointments each week, adequately preparing for each sales interaction.
- Perform customer servicing interactions and adhere to applicable compliance and operational risk controls.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit and regulatory points.
- Meet and maintain registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 2 years proven retail sales, call center, customer service, and/or telesales experience.
- OR a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 1 year proven proactive sales experience.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service.
- Well-organized with effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated financial services product knowledge.
- Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy with internal and external customers.
- Proficient with internet user-level technology.
- Ability to fluently communicate both verbally and in writing with bank customers in both English and Spanish. Proficiency will be determined via an assessment.
Nice to Have
- Associate's degree.
- Notary public license.
Team & Environment
You will be the focal point in the branch for sales, service, and referral opportunities in support of overall branch goals and activity requirements and a key driver of customer flow.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $20.43 - $34.05 Hourly (USD)
