Providence Health & Services (Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center) is seeking a Benefits Consultant to provide benefits administration and design expertise for a multi-state, multi-line organization. You will be responsible for explaining benefit plans, providing high-quality customer service, supporting regulatory compliance, and participating in benefits projects and implementations.
What You'll Do
- Provide accurate benefit plan explanation and customer service to caregivers, HR professionals, and managers.
- Execute administration and plan design functions for a multi-state, multi-line organization.
- Support regulatory benefits compliance activities across health and welfare plans, including compliance filings, disclosures, and appeals.
- Maintain documentation, assist with audits, and update Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs).
- Participate in benefits projects and assist senior team members with implementing benefits program changes and plan design updates.
- Handle sensitive benefit issues with discretion and confidentiality.
- Work with benefits vendors, carriers, brokers, and consultants system-wide to troubleshoot issues and participate in root cause analysis.
What We're Looking For
- 2 years in the development, analysis and support of benefits programs and processes.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or HR related field of study.
- Coursework/Training: PHR, CEBS, CBP, HIA, GBA.
- Upon hire: PHR, CEBS, CBP, HIA, GBA.
- 1 year of Project management or coordination experience.
- 1 year of Corporate role in overseeing benefits for system with subsidiaries/divisions.
- 1 year in health care and/or a union environment.

Part of a high-functioning team, you will assist the Sr. Benefits Consultant and Benefits Manager.

- Compensation: California (All Southern California - Except Bakersfield): $37.17 - $57.71 per hour. Washington (Western): $37.17 - $57.71 per hour.
