Swiss Re Group is hiring a Behavioural Analytics Consultant

About the Role

Swiss Re Group is seeking a Behavioural Analytics Consultant for its Behavioural Research Unit (BRU) within Life and Health Reinsurance. In this role, you will apply research to understand human behaviour, achieve business impact, and influence strategy. You will own discrete workstreams and develop expertise at the intersection of behavioural science, analytics, and UX/UI design.

What You'll Do

  • Independently design and deliver analytics and behavioural science workstreams for strategic and underwriting-relevant projects.
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative research methods to generate insights into human decision-making in insurance settings.
  • Source, assess, clean, and integrate internal and external datasets, ensuring analytical robustness and business relevance.
  • Support the development of AI use-cases across the value-chain of workstreams.
  • Conduct structured literature reviews across behavioural science, economics, and decision science.
  • Translate analytical findings into concise, decision-ready recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure behavioural perspectives are embedded in broader business and strategy discussions.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of behavioural analytics projects or components within consulting projects.
  • Structure ambiguous business questions into clear analytical approaches and outputs.
  • Coordinate with internal partners and external data providers to deliver high-quality, timely results.
  • Combine behavioural insights with data-driven thinking, design thinking, and user-centric approaches to create scalable solutions.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert in behavioural economics and analytics, supporting colleagues across the group.
  • Own and contribute to internal publications, presentations, and selected external communications.
  • Actively identify opportunities to increase the visibility and impact of behavioural insights.

What We're Looking For

  • An advanced degree (master's or PhD) in behavioural science with emphasis on data skills, or an analytics degree (master's or PhD) in applied mathematics, statistics, or econometrics with a basic understanding of behavioural science/UX.
  • Fluent in a programming language such as R, Python, SQL, Matlab, or Stata.
  • Familiar or keen to learn tools like Qualtrics, Palantir, and the MS Suite (Power BI, MS Forms, Power Automate, Copilot, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with AI tools and interest in developing behavioural AI prototypes.
  • 3-6 years of professional experience in consulting or analytics in a research and/or corporate environment, ideally in insurance.
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset with a clear sense of how innovation adds business value.
  • Strong analytical curiosity and a genuine interest in understanding and modelling human behaviour.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs with limited supervision.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to challenge assumptions.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills in cross-functional, international settings.
