TD Bank is looking for a Part-Time Banking Associate to join our Northgate team in Portland, Maine. In this 30-hour role, you will be a key professional delivering TD's brand promise by providing excellent customer service and financial guidance. You will accurately process transactions while helping customers understand our products and tools to achieve their financial objectives.
What You'll Do
- Perform a wide range of banking tasks, including processing transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on products and services.
- Deliver end-to-end financial advice by building trust, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights.
- Utilize TD's systems to engage with customers, acquire and deepen relationships, and refer them to appropriate internal partners.
- Service customers on both the teller line and platform, handling account openings/closures, debit/credit card issues, and digital banking support.
- Connect with customers through lead management activities, including creating leads, conducting outreach, and scheduling appointments.
- Provide legendary customer service while promoting and educating on TD products.
- Manage customer wait times and lobby traffic, acting as the first point of contact for inquiries or resolution.
- Drive referrals to Store colleagues to support customers' more complex financial needs.
- Ensure all tasks are performed within established policies, procedures, and compliance regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
- Accurately process cash transactions, maintain cash drawers, and follow all authentication and dual control procedures.
- Contribute to a positive work environment aligned with TD's model, brand, and culture, and act as a brand champion.
- Actively seek opportunities for personal development and may train or mentor newer colleagues.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work during scheduled operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Completion of required Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent, concise communication skills.
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving and sound judgment in decision-making.
- Proven ability to schedule, prioritize work, and work independently within deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Nice to Have
- 1+ year of customer service experience demonstrated through work, volunteering, education, or military service.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Teller experience.
- Notary License.
