San Joaquin Valley College Inc is hiring an Aviation Maintenance Technology Instructor to deliver high-quality instruction and ensure students achieve mastery of course and program outcomes. You will prepare curriculum, engage in program improvement, and participate in institutional initiatives, playing a critical role in student success.
What You'll Do
- Prepare lessons and course materials using effective teaching methods and resources.
- Deliver dynamic instruction that supports various learning styles.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with students regarding progress, attendance, and performance.
- Provide academic advising, tutoring, and office hours.
- Participate in student affairs activities like orientation and career events.
- Assess student learning outcomes and implement strategies to enhance performance.
- Use student data to contribute to program improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends and academic best practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings, advisory boards, and faculty development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and retention.
- Mentor and support new faculty members.
- Adhere to institutional, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
- Document grades, attendance, and advising information in a timely manner.
- Participate in programmatic and institutional assessments.
- Ensure instructional materials are relevant and updated.
- Ensure classroom and lab equipment is available and in good working order.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience, education, and/or training.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret materials related to the field.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Ability to perform basic calculations relevant to course material.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Nice to Have
- Associate degree or higher.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $72,000 - $75,000 annually
