San Joaquin Valley College Inc. is hiring an Electrical Technology Instructor to play a critical role in our students' educational journeys. You will ensure students master course and program outcomes through high-quality instruction and active participation in program improvement and student success initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Prepare lessons and course materials in accordance with the college curriculum, using effective teaching methods.
- Deliver dynamic instruction using varied techniques to support different learning styles.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment that fosters student engagement.
- Communicate regularly with students about their progress, attendance, and performance.
- Provide proactive academic advising, tutoring, and hold office hours for student support.
- Participate in student affairs activities like orientation, student clubs, and career services events.
- Assess student learning outcomes and implement strategies to enhance performance and course effectiveness.
- Use student achievement data to contribute to program improvement processes.
- Stay current with industry trends and academic best practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings, industry advisory boards, and faculty development.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support student success and retention.
- Mentor and support new faculty members.
- Adhere to institutional, accreditation, and regulatory standards for program compliance.
- Document grades, attendance, and student advising using designated software systems.
- Participate in programmatic and institutional assessments for accreditation.
- Ensure instructional materials remain relevant and facilitate improvements as needed.
- Ensure classroom and lab equipment is available and in good working order, facilitating timely repairs.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director, Academic Dean, or Campus Director/President.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience, education, and/or training in current subject practices.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret materials related to your area of expertise.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to perform basic calculations relevant to course material and student assessments.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and any required course delivery software.
Nice to Have
- An associate degree or higher.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $25.00 - $37.00 per hour.
