Avaya is hiring an Automation Engineer to treat our entire infrastructure as code, building the pipelines that power the IT ecosystem. This is a fully remote, high-impact role for an engineer ready to own the automation lifecycle from end to end.
What You'll Do
- Design and provision standardized, scalable virtual environments using VMware, Packer, and Ansible.
- Deploy and manage containerized ecosystems using Docker and Kubernetes, leveraging Helm.
- Build and refine high-performance CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, ensuring every change is version-controlled through rigorous GitOps methodologies.
- Develop maintainable, robust tools using Python and PowerShell/PowerCLI to integrate disparate systems and eliminate manual intervention.
- Act as a senior-level escalation point for both Linux and Windows administrative challenges.
- Assist in the automation and monitoring of enterprise VoIP and SIP infrastructure.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Systems Automation.
- Deep expertise in VMware vSphere/vCenter, with a proven ability to automate VM lifecycles using Packer.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, and Helm.
- Mastery of Ansible for configuration management and Jenkins for CI/CD.
- High proficiency in Python and PowerShell/PowerCLI.
- Strong administrative chops in both Windows and Linux server environments.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Avaya enterprise voice systems or SIP/VoIP architecture.
- A solid grasp of routing, switching, and load balancing within virtualized and containerized environments.
