As an Entry Level Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the reliability of systems that serve millions of users. Working remotely from Ireland, you'll collaborate with development teams to deploy, monitor, and optimize services at scale. Your focus will be on automation, observability, and continuous improvement of infrastructure to meet strict performance and availability goals.
What You'll Do
- Partner with software engineers to support the launch and operation of new services and features
- Design and implement monitoring solutions to track system health, performance, and incident response
- Ensure infrastructure meets reliability and scalability targets using defined service level objectives
- Diagnose and resolve production issues using tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry
- Automate infrastructure management using Python, Terraform, Puppet, Git, and Jenkins, enhanced by AI-powered tooling
- Build custom internal tools when existing solutions don't meet operational needs, and contribute improvements back to open source
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation with global teams, ensuring 24/7 coverage without individual burnout
What We're Looking For
- Experience with Linux systems and a strong interest in deepening that knowledge
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, Ruby, Java, or C++
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of core networking and web protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS
- Exposure to monitoring practices for performance, reliability, and security
- Strong communication skills and a habit of clear, thorough documentation
- Curiosity, initiative, and a consistent drive to learn and improve
Technology Environment
You'll work with a modern stack including Python, Puppet, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Splunk, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP. Containerization with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes are central to our architecture. AI-enhanced tooling supports automation and decision-making at scale.
