Mass General Brigham (The McLean Hospital Corporation) is hiring a full-time Athletic Trainer Float. This role provides athletic training services to student-athletes, traveling between various schools around the South Shore and south of Boston. You will be responsible for injury care, rehabilitation, and ensuring safe return to sport under the direction of the program or department head.
What You'll Do
- Care for athletic injuries and administer emergency care and first aid.
- Design and implement injury rehabilitation programs.
- Formulate assessments and execute plans of action to best aid student-athletes' health needs.
- Determine student-athletes' safe return to sport participation.
- Provide athletic training coverage for all home/hosted contests as described by the CCCAA bylaws.
- Create and regularly update injury reports.
- Ensure proper equipment use and fitting, such as helmets, shoulder pads, braces, and mouthpieces, and the use of tape or wraps.
- Maintain documents, supplies, and the working environment to ensure effective clinic functioning.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field of study.
- Athletic Trainer State License.
- Vehicle Driver's License State License.
- Current Massachusetts driver's license, a safe driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Strong attention to detail and planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to adjust actions in relation to others' actions.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice to Have
- Master's Degree in a related field of study.
- Basic Life Support (BLS Certification).
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) from the Board of Certification of the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
- 0-1 year of experience working as an athletic trainer.
