Nagarro is hiring an Associate Principal Engineer to serve as the primary owner and administrator of our global Atlassian platforms. In this key role, you will ensure the high availability, reliability, performance, and scalability of our Atlassian Data Center environments for Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary owner and administrator of Atlassian platforms including Jira, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence across global teams.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and scalability of Atlassian Data Center environments.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution for complex platform issues.
- Implement proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to prevent system outages.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, scripting, and process optimization.
- Govern platform upgrades, integrations, configurations, and license management.
- Define and enforce platform standards, security controls, and best practices across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business needs.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior administrators and support teams.
- Support and contribute to Atlassian cloud migration initiatives and SaaS optimization strategies.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of hands-on experience administering and supporting Atlassian platforms (Jira, JSM, Confluence), primarily in Atlassian Data Center environments.
- Deep technical expertise in Atlassian architecture, clustering, performance tuning, and high availability setups.
- Strong experience with underlying databases, infrastructure, and system integrations.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Groovy, Python, REST APIs) for platform optimization and operational efficiency.
- Solid understanding of monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices.
- Experience managing platform upgrades, integrations, and licensing at enterprise scale.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with global teams across multiple time zones.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Atlassian certifications (ACP, Data Center certifications) are preferred.
- Experience with Atlassian Cloud migration and SaaS optimization is a plus.
