Barkbus is looking for an Associate, People Business Partner to play an essential role in supporting the experience for our remote contractors on the international support team. You’ll be a key point of contact for day-to-day HR support, ensuring contractors have a trusted resource for questions, processes, and basic policy guidance. You'll join a collaborative, high-quality team of dog-lovers that solves problems with thoughtfulness, empathy, and speed.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the first point of contact for contractors and team members across multiple countries (Philippines, Argentina, Mexico, Nigeria, Canada), providing timely and accurate support for day-to-day HR questions, processes, contract terms, and general inquiries.
- Support people managers by coordinating documentation, scheduling regular check-ins, and assisting with conversations related to contractor scopes and outcomes, feedback, and ongoing development.
- Ensure compliance with company processes and applicable local laws and contractor agreements by maintaining accurate records, monitoring acknowledgment of company policies, and supporting documentation related to project incidents.
- Act as a bridge between the People team and remote team members—ensuring clear, timely communication on policy changes, updates, and programs.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Payroll, IT, Operations) to help ensure contractors receive the tools, support, and information they need to be successful.
- Support the contractor experience by helping team members navigate HR processes, answering general questions, and escalating complex issues to the appropriate People team partners.
- Model the Barkbus values in daily interactions and help promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive team culture.
- Communicate policies and procedures clearly and professionally, while identifying recurring points of confusion to help improve future resources and training.
- Support contractor relations efforts by documenting concerns, assisting with the intake of sensitive matters, and escalating issues that require formal review.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in a People Business Partner role
- Proven ability to effectively support a large, contractor-based workforce (100+ individuals) across multiple countries and time zones
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of labor laws and employment practices in the Philippines
- Working knowledge of other international labor laws and the ability to apply them in real-world scenarios
- Exceptionally detail-oriented, highly organized, and fueled by a deep internal drive for excellence
- Highly resilient, patient and trustworthy

This role reports directly to the Manager, People Business Partner. You will join a fun, ambitious group working to build something new in pet care, where we move with high velocity, collaborate closely, and deliver results.
Work Mode
This is a global, fully remote position. We are open to candidates located in the Philippines, Argentina, Mexico, Nigeria, or Canada.
