Allegheny Health Network is looking for an Associate Lab / Teamsters JH to join our laboratory team. In this role, you will receive, prepare, and process specimens delivered to the laboratory, ensuring the smooth operation of our critical support functions.
What You'll Do
- Register patients and perform test order entry into the laboratory information system accurately.
- Verify specimen identification and prepare/process specimens according to department protocols.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and stock supplies for efficient operations.
- Provide support by answering telephones, faxing reports, and handling send-outs.
- Mentor MLA students in specimen processing using AHN policies and procedures.
- Order, perform, and result waived testing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- Graduate of a medical assistant program or a phlebotomy program with a corresponding certificate.
