Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development and Commercialization, Inc. is hiring an Associate Director, Global Medical Training. This is a full-time remote role where you will advance the product expertise and functional skills of our global medical affairs teams. You'll serve as a therapeutic area expert in Nephrology/Immunology, leading training on GMA Business Unit products, strategy, and priorities, and be responsible for developing and executing the core training curriculum for a new product across all launch phases.
What You'll Do
- Execute strategic FMA training plan deliverables supporting the therapeutic area Business Unit.
- Implement focused disease state and product-specific educational platforms for all new product launches to ensure GMA teams are fully field-ready.
- Develop, continuously refine, and execute the GMA new hire FMA learning curriculum for the Nephrology/Immunology therapeutic area.
- Lead virtual classrooms, competency assessments, and certifications (live and virtual).
- Serve as a key presenter and co-author of the Peak Performers series on the global Medical stage (live and virtual).
- Work closely with the Director of Global Medical Training & field excellence team to conduct needs analysis and identify key performance, skill, and knowledge gaps.
- Assist in developing and implementing creative learning programs to address identified gaps.
- Assist with developing the ongoing scientific and functional training curriculum for GMA, creating innovative programs with Brand Training Lead partners.
- Serve as the primary training partner within the therapeutic area for all field sales training needs.
- Attend all assigned Business Unit Meetings.
- Assist with planning and coordinating training meetings (virtual, on-site/offsite, regional/national).
- Partner with and oversee regional/local Training Leads for the therapeutic area to develop tailored supplementary trainings.
- Work with alliance partners to positively impact their effectiveness and performance.
- Support the GMA Peak Performers series, focusing on upskilling the performance of Global Medical Affairs.
What We're Looking For
- Doctorate Degree required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years field medical affairs experience (MSL), preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Prior experience or leadership roles in training field medical affairs teams.
- Experience developing and executing functional training workshops/content for medical affairs.
- Experience with project management.
- Must have experience leading cross-functional teams to execute strategies through direct and indirect influence.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong platform and communication skills with extensive experience in group presentations.
- Experience with training and development in medical affairs.
- Demonstrated team player behavior.
- Demonstrated pharmaceutical industry knowledge.
- Proven problem-solving ability.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Able to be innovative and collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Proven ability to work within several different therapeutic areas (Nephrology/Immunology preferred).
Team & Environment
This position reports to the Director of Global Medical Training.
